Service Projects

We are a group of women who love to give back to our community!

Serve Our City Project

Serve My City is an outreach committed to the 253 connecting with community partners to best serve the people of our city. Quota International of Tacoma partnered with one of the volunteers for Serve My City, Jacquie Hackett.

On March 21, 2015, we hosted a breakfast party to which Jacquie had been invited. At this breakfast we presented her with several bags full of clothing, blankets, toys, etc. for foster children, just one of the many projects Serve My City has undertaken.

Childrens Therapy Center

QI of Tacoma has been sponsoring Children’s Therapy Center for several years, starting when they were only located in King County. When they opened in Pierce County we donated enough funds to purchase a much needed treadmill  Besides donating funds we provided dinner for all the children, parents and teachers at one of their evening classes. Children’s Therapy Center is the most comprehensive non-profit pediatric therapy program in Washington State. Since 1979 they have provided essential services and products for children with special needs including physical, occupational and speech therapy, early intervention services, and orthotics and equipment. Serving over 3,400 children every year, they are recognized by parents and pediatricians for their quality of care, convenient locations and the partnerships they develop with the families they are fortunate to serve.

Emergency Food Network

QI of Tacoma has been aligned with the EFN for many years. Not only donating money, but doing hands on service projects such as bagging groceries for the needy. EFN provides 15 million pounds of healthy, nutritious food annually to over 60 food banks, hot meal sites and shelters for distribution to low-income families and individuals.

In 2014, more than 1.4 million visits were made to food banks in Pierce County with an 11 percent increase since 2011. EFN aided these visits distributing more than 15.2 million pounds of food to the programs it serves. Each time a community member walks into a food program with nothing. EFN assures they walk out with enough food for nine meals.
